Your legal rights
If you're a consumer you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Nothing here limits them.
Your order
Placing an order is an offer to buy. The contract starts when we email to confirm dispatch — not when you get the order confirmation.
If we can't fulfil your order — out of stock, an address we can't deliver to, or a pricing error you could reasonably have spotted — we'll tell you and refund in full.
We may also decline or cancel an order where we reasonably believe it's fraudulent, made for commercial resale, or part of a pattern of misuse of our returns or promotions. We'll always refund in full if we do. We sell to consumers for personal use — we're not set up for trade or wholesale orders, and business purchases aren't covered by the consumer protections in these terms.
Discount codes and promotions are for one use per customer unless we say otherwise, and can't be combined or applied after you've ordered.
Prices and delivery
Prices are in pounds sterling and include tax. Delivery is shown separately at checkout, and we take payment when you order. Promotions can change or end at any time, but never for orders already placed.
We deliver across the UK. Timings are in our Shipping Policy and are estimates, not guarantees.
Please check your address carefully — we're not responsible for orders sent to an address you entered incorrectly. Goods become your responsibility once delivered to the address you gave us, including where the carrier leaves them with a neighbour or in a safe place at your instruction. Carrier proof of delivery is evidence that your order arrived.
Our products
Hush Ember — cordless rechargeable amber bathroom lamp. IP44 splash-proof, 16 colours with adjustable brightness, up to 8 hours per charge, remote and touch control.
Hush Halo — cordless bedside lamp. Soft warm light, optional Bluetooth sound, 30/60/90-minute sleep timer, up to 8 hours per charge.
Battery life assumes typical use at moderate brightness and varies with brightness, colour and volume.
Our products are lamps. They're not medical devices, not a treatment for insomnia or any sleep disorder, and nothing on our site is medical advice. If you have a persistent sleep problem, see your GP.
Using them safely
Indoor home use only. Follow the instructions supplied.
- IP44 means splash-proof, not waterproof. Fine with steam, humidity and the odd splash. Don't submerge it, aim a showerhead at it, put it inside a bath or shower enclosure, or rinse it under a tap.
- Charge with the supplied cable and a standard USB power supply.
- Don't open, modify or repair it — there's a lithium battery inside.
- Stop using it and contact us if the casing cracks, the battery swells, or it gets unusually hot.
- Keep away from children under 3 — small parts and remote batteries.
Returns and warranty
Full details in our Returns & Refunds policy, which forms part of these terms.
In short: 30 days to change your mind, though refunds can be reduced for damage. Plus a 12-month warranty against defects, which doesn't cover damage from misuse — including water damage from submersion or direct water jets, both outside the IP44 rating.
The warranty applies to the original buyer, on products bought from hushlights.com, and we may ask for your order number.
If you return part of a bundle, we refund what you paid less the value of the bundle discount — the items you keep are then charged at their normal individual price.
Our liability
We're responsible for foreseeable loss and damage we cause. We're not responsible for unforeseeable loss, or for business losses — these products are for home use.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that we're not legally allowed to exclude or limit, including your rights over the products themselves.
We're not liable for damage to the lamp caused by ignoring the safety instructions above. That doesn't affect our responsibility if the product itself is defective.
Where our liability isn't excluded or limited by law, it's limited to the price you paid for the product.
We're also not liable for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as supply problems, carrier failures or extreme weather. If that happens we'll contact you, and you can cancel and get a refund for anything undelivered.
Complaints
Email hello@hushlights.com and we'll sort it — please give us the chance before raising a dispute with your bank or card provider, as we can almost always fix things faster ourselves.
If we can't reach a resolution together, you keep every option the law gives you.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, your local law applies and you keep your local rights.
If any part of these terms turns out not to be valid, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce something straight away, we haven't given up the right to do so later.
